Emi Martinez came off at half-time in Aston Villa's Premier League clash against Chelsea.

He appeared to be in some discomfort in the first half and signalled to the bench that he had to come off at the break. By then, Villa were two goals down after Nicolas Jackson opened the scoring in the seventh minute before Enzo Fernandez doubled the lead 30 minutes later.

Martinez was replaced by Robin Olsen, who is making his first appearance of the season after struggling with injury at the start of the campaign.

Joe Gauci started both Carabao Cup matches against Wycombe Wanderers and Crystal Palace, but the Australian was not named in the matchday squad for the match against Chelsea despite travelling with the team.

If Villa fail to come back against the Blues, then their winless run will extend to eight matches. They are currently without a win in the league in six weeks after last claiming victory against Fulham at Craven Cottage.

Villa host Brentford on Wednesday night (8:15pm) before they then face Southampton at Villa Park on Saturday (3pm).
