Everton had an afternoon to forget against Manchester United, as they were thumped 4-0.
The away section was almost empty by the 80th minute, with Sean Dyche and his Everton side giving fans little to nothing to shout about right now.
It was the defensive display that really infuriated many, with Jarrad Branthwaite not helping the cause by basically gifting Manchester United their second goal.
Everton don’t want to sack Sean Dyche due to the issue it could cause with FFP, but there’s only so much damage a man can do before it gets too much.
However, one player isn’t helping the Everton manager’s cause on the field, putting in an embarrassing display against Manchester United.
Vitalii Mykolenko’s display vs Manchester United proves he’s not good enough for Everton
Vitalii Mykolenko has been the go-to man at left-back for Everton, which hasn’t been helped at times due to injuries.
However, he’s done very little to justify he deserves a starting spot at Everton, or even a place in the squad at all, as his performances have been costly.
Mykolenko was called a ‘weak link’ after his display against Southampton and that’s proven to be the case in most games this season.

Manchester United took advantage of the left-back this afternoon, constantly giving the ball to Amad Diallo to run at him. He offered too much space to the opposition, and when he did decide to go in for the tackle he brought him down and was gifted a yellow card.
He lacks any kind of calmness on the ball too, gifting the ball away and putting his teammates under pressure.
At one point, Amad Diallo put him under pressure and he decided to just kick the ball out of play.
Everton fans had seen enough of Mykolenko by the time the full-time whistle was blown, with one even stating they’d rather play with 10 men.

Vitalii Mykolenko’s stats during Manchester United display
Mykolenko seriously needs to improve if he wants to have any kind of future at Everton.
It was clear that Manchester United saw him as a weak point.
He lost the ball seven times, had just 33 touches, lost three out of his seven duels, and failed to make a single tackle or clearance (SofaScore).
This isn’t the first time he’s come into question, as Mykolenko should have been dropped after his Aston Villa display back in September.
