“It was a lot of fun, a lot of goals and we enjoyed it,” Saka added. “We’ve been playing like that in the last few games, scoring a lot of goals. We’re in good form, confident, and we’re enjoying our football.

“We’ve built a lot of momentum, we’ve played really well in the last three games; it’s not just that the results were good but also the way we played.

And while Saka has promised to extend his own personal form as Arsenal aim to force themselves back into contention for the title, Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has also showered praise on his star winger. He said: “It’s incredible, because it’s the hardest thing to do in football.

“A player that can deliver in those moments can impact the scoreline in that way. The value of that is tremendous, and even if the opponent knows it, he continues to do it, and that’s a bit of credit to him."

Saka was withdrawn with 15 minutes of normal time remaining against West Ham. But Arteta has allayed any concerns over his fitness and revealed that it was not down to injury.
