Man United vs. Everton: Resurgent Marcus Rashford hails Ruben Amorim influence after huge win

Marcus Rashford has said that Ruben Amorim's "great attitude" is inspiring the Manchester United players, with the Red Devils recording their biggest win of the campaign on Sunday afternoon.

Joshua Zirkzee and Rashford both scored braces in a 4-0 win over Everton, with the result moving the Red Devils into ninth spot in the Premier League table, just four points behind fourth-placed Brighton & Hove Albion.

Rashford has now managed three goals in his two league appearances under Amorim, and the Englishman opened up on the new manager's influence following Sunday's success over the Toffees.

"It is a nice result. It is important with a new coach and a new play of playing, when we are still learning. We have to back up this performance and win in midweek," Rashford told Sky Sports News.

"We all, as individuals, want to get back to our best and then push to improve so even in the bad moments you are doing the right thing. The connection is going to build and grow the more we get used to him. He's [Ruben Amorim] come in in a busy period and hopefully the connection keeps building and growing. He's come in with a great attitude and it's passed onto the players.

"The atmosphere is one of the most special things about his club and playing at this great stadium is always a great feeling. It is early on but I feel energised and ready for the next game. This game has only just finished but the next one is always the focus for the players."

Zirkzee, Rashford struck braces against Everton

Zirkzee and Rashford both scored braces in the four-goal success over Everton, with the win proving to be Man United's biggest this season, and it has significantly boosted their goal difference at a vital stage of the season.

Amorim was asked about Rashford's performance on Sunday, and he told Sky Sports News: "A new coach is always like that, but there is so much to improve. He can do so much better. We all have to improve. But it was a great job from the players."

The Man United head coach also addressed Zirkzee's display, with the Netherlands international on the scoresheet since the opening night of the 2024-25 Premier League season against Fulham.

"It is everything for the player. He did a great job. It is good for his confidence. We had an idea, but it is not because I selected him that i had an iphipcheny, we needed fresh legs. The players are helping a lot, congratulations to them," added the Portuguese.

What next for Man United?

Man United will be aiming to make it three wins in a row in all competitions when they head to Arsenal on Wednesday night.

However, the Red Devils will be without the services of both Lisandro Martinez and Kobbie Mainoo, with the pair picking up milestone yellow cards in the clash with Everton at Goodison Park.

Harry Maguire made his return from injury off the bench against the Toffees, though, and it is also believed that Leny Yoro has a strong chance of being in the squad for what is shaping up to be a fascinating clash at the Emirates Stadium.
