Ruben Amorim has thanked predecessor Ruud van Nistelrooy for his role in improving one Manchester United star following the 4-0 win over Everton.
Braces from Marcus Rashford and Joshua Zirkzee secured Amorim his first Premier League win on Sunday.
While the goalscorers were deservedly praised, much credit must go to Amad Diallo who assisted the third and fourth goals and played an integral part in the second.
Once again operating out of position as a right-wingback, Amad was fantastic for 90 minutes, driving United forward with his impressive pressing and passing.
Amorim likes what he sees from the 22-year-old but said he could not take all the credit for the performance, thanking former interim manager Van Nistelrooy for his work with the player.
‘He is really big in talent, but small in size. He did a great job but he is also has to improve,’ the United head coach said of Amad after full-time.
‘He was really good again. Ruud van Nistelrooy helped him a lot in his games in charge and now he’s helping me.

‘He’s in a great moment, but that moment started with Ruud. So I just take advantage of Ruud’s work with Amad!
‘He was really good defending and really good attacking so he has to continue to play like that. You could feel it in the end of the game he was really, really tired so we have to manage that and increase his physical ability.
‘I’d like to take credit for it [Amad’s pressing], but that’s him. He’s like that. He’s smart. He’s explosive.’

Van Nistelrooy took charge of four games following Erik ten Hag’s sacking but despite his popularity he was not retained to be a part of Amorim’s coaching staff and has since landed the top job at Leicester City.
Amad started two of those matches, recording two goals and an assist, and was probably United’s best player under the Dutchman.
Amorim will be hoping for another great performance from the Ivory Coast star when United travel to Arsenal on Wednesday night.
