It's now become so obvious what Ruud van Nistelrooy's Leicester XI should be vs West Ham

Leicester City suffered a bruising 4-1 defeat to Brentford on Saturday afternoon.

Leicester put in a pitiful performance against The Bees as they shipped four unanswered goals having led the London clash through Facundo Buonanotte.

Leicester made a number of defensive errors and were bereft of any real creativity in attack, with caretaker manager Ben Dawson fielding a back five.

Dawson, who was part of Steve Cooper’s staff, named Stephy Mavididi and Bilal El Khannouss on the bench, which was a strange decision.

So ahead of Tuesday’s game against fellow strugglers West Ham United, it’s become pretty obvious what Ruud van Nistelrooy’s first XI should be.

What Ruud van Nistelrooy’s XI should be vs West Ham United

Dawson named a really defensive team against Brentford and it just didn’t work at all.

In fact, it just invited pressure on the back four and that’s perhaps the weakest area of the squad, so it was a baffling set-up by the caretaker boss.

That said, van Nistelrooy is expected to be a much more front-footed manager, so there’s a good chance Mavididi and El Khannous make the starting XI vs West Ham.

Here’s the line-up the Dutchman should name.

That’s five changes from Brentford, so Tuesday’s side could have a completely different look about it, with two wingers and a number 10 feeding chances into the marksman, Jamie Vardy.

Van Nistelrooy needs backing in January

Saturday’s side certainly wasn’t the strongest Dawson could’ve named but there’s no doubt the Foxes are weak defensively.

So, it’s become really clear that van Nistelrooy needs to be given funds to sign at least one centre-back and a right-back.

A winger to replace the injured Abdul Fatawu is also a must, so it could be a pretty busy month for Director of Football Jon Rudkin and the recruitment team.

A telling for weeks lie ahead.
