Chelsea fans heaped praise on Marc Cucurella and Moises Caicedo for their performance in their Premier League clash against Aston Villa on Sunday, December 1. The duo hit the ball out of the park as the Blues steamrolled Unai Emery’s men 3-0 to move level on points with second-place Arsenal.
Wasting no time in asserting their authority at Stamford Bridge, Chelsea broke the deadlock in the seventh minute as Nicolas Jackson fired home a clinical left-footed strik at the near post. Despite taking the lead, the hosts kept cranking up the pressure and doubled their lead at the end of a wonderful free-flowing move in the 36th minute. Enzo Fernandez took Cole Palmer’s pass into his stride before dispatching a right-footed strike into the bottom corner.

Palmer put the game to bed in the 83rd minute as he curled home a pass he received from Noni Madueke. The Blues saw out the remainder of the second half with relative ease to take home all three points.
While Cole Palmer won the Player of the Match award for his heroics, Marc Cucurella and Moises Caicedo also stood out for the Blues. Cucurella was impressive in the left back for Chelsea as he kept Aston Villa winger Jaden Philogene under wraps. The Spanish defender made two clearances, had 127 touches, made 96 percent accurate passes, and had a rating of 7.8 as per Sofascore.
Caicedo, despite being deployed on the left back, wasn’t dribbled past throughout the game; he made three key passes, had 76 touches, and had a rating of 7.4 as per Sofascore.
