Former Manchester United captain Gary Neville has noted that Liverpool have regained their composure in big matches, which is standing them in good stead this season. The Reds were at their best in the first-half against Manchester City, blowing them away in terms of chances created but only managing to score once through Cody Gakpo.
Predictably, City came out quick in the second half and were pushing for an equaliser. However, Mohamed Salah's penalty 12 minutes before the end secured a comfortable three points for Arne Slot's men.
The victory puts Liverpool in a dominant position at the top of the Premier League in the title race with their opponents all languishing behind. As the Reds closed in on victory, Neville told Sky Sports what he has spotted about Liverpool which keeps occuring during big matches.

"We have seen this a few times now with Liverpool in the second half of games in some of the big matches where there is a peace to them," he said. "Even though they are not dominating the game, even though they do not have the ball, there is just a peace in their defending and controlled manner to them and then they know they are, like a professional well-oiled machine, going on and getting the victory."
Liverpool now turn their attention to a trip to Newcastle United in midweek before the big one next Saturday when they travel to Everton in the Merseyside derby. Victories in both of those matches would top off an incredible start to December for Slot and his team.
