Real Madrid’s victory over Getafe on Sunday saw one member of Carlo Ancelotti’s squad continue to prove his many doubters wrong.
The player in question? Dani Ceballos.
Real, of course, are fresh off securing a return to winning ways.
After slipping to a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Liverpool in the Champions League in midweek, Los Blancos turned attentions back towards matters on the domestic front, in a La Liga meeting with Getafe.
And, when all was said and done, the reigning Spanish champions ran out comfortable 2-0 victors.
Jude Bellingham opened the scoring in the clash, before Kylian Mbappé rounded out as much courtesy of a sumptuous bending finish late in the first-half.
Carlo Ancelotti introduced a number of fresh faces to his XI to face Getafe, including the aforementioned Dani Ceballos.
And the former Arsenal man, as alluded to above, went on to fully justify his inclusion.
Ceballos was superb in possession over the course of the 90 minutes, flawless in his touch, and pinpoint with his passing.
This marked just the latest in a string of impressive recent displays on the part of the midfield all-rounder, who is once again proving himself an important squad player in Spain’s capital this season.
So often singled out as being ‘not good enough’ for a club of Real’s stature, Ceballos deserves immense credit for his current form.
