The experienced defender was substituted off in the 73rd minute for Nathan Patterson, and he ended up receiving a standing ovation from the home fans.

No one on the field was outstanding for Everton, but Ashley Young at least held his own at times.
Ashley Young had 44 touches, a passing accuracy percentage of 88, made two tackles, two clearances, won two duels, was dribbled past once and lost possession eight times (SofaScore).
There were a few mistakes. He did get beaten on an occasion, as well as failing with most of his long balls.
With his contract up in the summer, it remains to be seen as to whether he will be at the club next season at the age of 39.
