Nottingham Forest were correctly awarded one penalty and denied another in their 1-0 win over Ipswich Town, Keith Hackett has said.
The former PGMOL chief and ex-FIFA referee exclusively gave his verdict on the two incidents from the 30 November clash to Football Insider.
Chris Wood continued his fine form that has seen him win plenty of admirers this season to seal a 1-0 win from the penalty spot for Nuno Espirito Santo’s side.
Shortly after though, the Nottingham Forest striker was denied another chance from the spot, when appeals for another penalty were waved away by Tony Harrington.
Hackett has now given his view on that pair of incidents, backing the decisions made by the officials on both occasions.
Chris Wood correctly denied second Nottingham Forest penalty
After a goalless first-half, the hosts took the lead at The City Ground four minutes after the break, when Wood fired home from the spot.

That came after Sammie Szmodics caught the leg of Jota Silva, bringing the attacker down inside the Ipswich area, while stretching in an attempt to win the ball.
Nottingham Forest were then denied another penalty after Wood went down under a challenge from Jens Cajuste, with replays showing the Napoli loanee did make clear contact with the ball.

Nuno Espirito Santo saw his Nottingham Forest side beat promoted Ipswich.
Speaking about the decision to give the hosts one penalty and rule out another for them, Hackett told Football Insider: “It was the correct award of a penalty kick to Nottingham Forest after a clear trip inside the penalty area. Referee Harrington was correct in his decision and Chris Wood blasts it into the net to make it 1-0.
“There was a VAR check for another possible foul on Woods and another appeal for a penalty kick. However, after the video review a second penalty wasn’t awarded. Another correct decision.”
That win continued an excellent start to the season for Nottingham Forest, as they sit sixth in the table, just a point adrift of the Champions League places.
By contrast, Ipswich sit second-from-bottom in the Premier League, which could put them under pressure in the January transfer window when it comes to interest in their star players if things do not change soon.
