Liverpool will be without three players for the next couple of matches with Arne Slot issuing an update on Ibrahima Konate and Conor Bradley after his side's 2-0 win over Manchester City in the Premier League.
Goals from Cody Gakpo and Mohamed Salah sent Liverpool nine points clear at the top of the table with matches away at Newcastle and Everton to come next week. Slot says that Kostas Tsimikas won't feature in either game — while Konate and Bradley will be out for even longer than that.
"[Konate and Bradley] will both be out for a few weeks," Slot confirmed during his post-match press conference. "I have said many times before always difficult to judge how many weeks exactly.
"The end stage of an injury process can differ but they will not be in the team this week, for sure. And I don’t think Kostas will be with us in the upcoming week as well."
Both Bradley and Konate were pictured on crutches at Anfield as their teammates won 2-0 again, having beaten Real Madrid by the same scoreline only a few days earlier. "A few weeks" could potentially see them return in early 2025.
Liverpool.com says: An injury crisis is perhaps the only thing that can stop Liverpool this season and it isn't at that level just yet. Bradley and Konate being out at the same time will likely mean we see a bit more of Joe Gomez and Jarell Quansah, while Tsimikas' absence will place more burden on Andy Robertson.
This happens to every team at some point in the season and Liverpool will need to show it can cope. It has already been missing Alisson Becker and Diogo Jota, among others, even though the results are not showing it. The December and January schedule, when things are at their most congested, is the time when it could bite any side the most.
