PSG in talks with Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah over free transfer

Liverpool winger Mohamed Salah (32) is reportedly in talks with Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain over a free transfer next summer when his contract with the Premier League giants will expire, according to a report this Sunday from L’Equipe. The outlet notably quotes a source claiming the Egypt international and PSG are in talks for a considerable time now and that Salah has opened the door to a switch to France. “There is now a good chance that he will end up at Paris-Saint-Germain”,** said the source.

L’Equipe understands that PSG are currently in the market for a winger after failing in their quest to sign Napoli’sKhvicha Kvaratskhelia (23) and Manchester United’s Jadon Sancho (24). Athletic Bilbao’s Nico Williams (22) was also of interest to Les Parisiens. The QSI-owned PSG would reportedly have no difficulty funding the arrival of Salah, after the departures of several highly-paid players – Neymar, Lionel Messi, Sergio Ramos, Kylian Mbappé – in recent years.

The outlet mentions how PSG have previously tested the waters for Salah, and that next summer is probably their latest chance at landing the free-scoring Liverpool winger. The fact Salah and PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi know each other quite well could play right in the hands of Les Parisiens. PSG have denied L’Equipe’s piece and their source’s quotes, believing it is a ploy by Salah to put pressure on Liverpool.
