Liverpool took a huge step towards the Premier League title by beating reigning champions Manchester City 2-0 on Sunday afternoon.
Goals either side of half time from Cody Gakpo and Mohamed Salah earned the Reds a huge victory at Anfield, extending their lead at the top of the table to nine points.
Arne Slot has enjoyed a fantastic start to his tenure at the club, and he will undoubtedly be pleased with his side’s position after 13 games.
Despite their strong star, those in charge of the club’s recruitment will still be on the lookout for potential transfer targets, and it appears that Liverpool are one of a number of Premier League sides chasing a young Englishman.
As per Sky Sports Germany’s Florian Plettenberg, Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur are all keeping tabs on Borussia Dortmund youngster Jamie Bynoe-Gittens.
Gittens has been in fine form for Dortmund this term
The 20-year-old joined Dortmund from Man City’s youth setup in 2020 but is currently enjoying his most impressive campaign so far.
He has been in fine form for Nuri Sahin’s side, particularly in the Champions League where he has scored four times and provided an assist in just five appearances.
The winger is contracted to Dortmund until the summer of 2028 and Plettenberg claims that, while he isn’t currently planning to leave the German side next year, he does wish to play in the Premier League one day.
Bynoe-Gittens has scored 13 goals and provided the same number of assists in 77 matches for Dortmund at senior level, and the journalist claims that the Bundesliga outfit will demand a fee of around £83 million for him.
The England Under-21 international primarily operates on the left flank, and Plettenberg suggests that the quartet of Premier League sides are all monitoring his situation with a view to potentially making an offer in the future.
