Mohamed Salah 'enters talks' with PSG in aftermath of Liverpool win over Man City

Mohamed Salah has reportedly entered talks with Paris Saint-Germain over joining the French club next summer, with his future at Liverpool up in the air. The blockbuster star, who is out of contract at the end of the campaign, bagged another Premier League goal and assist on Sunday as he helped the Reds defeat Manchester City 2-0.

Salah teed up Cody Gakpo for the opening goal against the Citizens as the Netherlands international turned the ball in from close range.

And the Egyptian winger thumped home his 13th goal of the season from the penalty spot late on as Liverpool moved nine points clear at the top of the table.

According to L’Equipe, PSG are in the market for a winger after failing to secure the services of Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Jadon Sancho.

The club are said to have been in talks with Salah for a considerable amount of time, with a source telling the publication “there is a good chance” the 32-year-old will end up at the Parc des Princes.

PSG have previously tested the waters over a transfer for Salah and would have no issues funding the move after cashing in on Kylian Mbappe and Neymar is recent years. And there have been reports in the past that Salah has met with the Ligue 1 outfit’s president Nasser Al-Khelaifi to discuss a move.

But PSG have denied the latest rumours and believe it’s a ploy by Salah to put pressure on Liverpool.

Salah has become one of the greatest players in Premier League history since joining the Reds from Roma in 2017.

And after his performance against Pep Guardiola’s side he explained: “It's very special [playing at Anfield]. I don't take it for granted. I'm enjoying every minute here, it feels like home. It's always a special feeling always scoring at Anfield and winning games.”

Turning his attention to his contract situation, he then added: “Honestly it's in my head. Until now this is the last City game I will play for Liverpool so I was just going to enjoy it.

“The atmosphere was incredible so I will enjoy every second here. Hopefully we just win the league and will see what will happen.”

Salah will be free to sign a pre-contract with an overseas club from the start of January if Liverpool don’t tie him down to a new deal before the end of the year.

The star is said to be demanding a huge contract at Anfield but is reportedly being backed by his senior team-mates as they believe the player has a rare opportunity to use his leverage during what is ultimately a short career.
