Despite a dominant 3-0 win over Aston Villa at Stamford Bridge yesterday, it was not all smiles as far as Chelsea were concerned at full-time.
Wesley Fofana limped off injured in the second half, causing concern for Enzo Maresca and Chelsea fans that he could be in for another spell on the sidelines.
The Frenchman has had a torrid time of things in terms of fitness since he made the big-money move to Stamford Bridge, however he had been able to string together Premier League appearances throughout this season.
Maresca is clearly a huge fan of the defender, naming him in the starting side for every league game he has been available for this season.

Wesley Fofana positive about injury suffered during Chelsea vs Aston Villa
However, the manager stated after the game that it could be a spell of up to 12 games on the sidelines for Fofana after what appeared to be a hamstring issue.
He said to the club website: “Unfortunately it is bad news. It is a hamstring problem and these kind of things usually require at least three, four or five weeks, but in this moment that means we lose him for 10 or 12 games.”
This would mean he is out for a considerable amount of time, although Fofana himself seems to have given a more positive update on his own Instagram page.
He said: “A slight muscle warning, as often happens after long injuries, nothing serious, the body is adjusting. We’ll come back stronger, as always. Trust your guy!”

Who could replace Wesley Fofana after his injury?
It looks as if Maresca will look to Benoit Badiashile to fill the void left by Fofana in the Premier League starting side in the coming weeks.
Badiashile has enjoyed an upturn in performances in recent weeks, after he had made what was fair to say an underwhelming start to the campaign.
Tosin Adarabioyo is another choice that the boss could look to, and he would bring the balance of a right-footed player to accompany Levi Colwill at the back.
With the fixtures stacking up as we enter the Christmas period though, there will no doubt be opportunities for both to prove why they should be the go-to option behind the starting pair.
