After leaving Manchester City in 2020, Jamie Gittens has developed into the kind of winger at Borussia Dortmund who could benefit both Arsenal and Liverpool.
Gittens has made remarkable progress this season scoring eight goals and providing four assists in 19 games – form that won’t go unnoticed back in the Premier League.
Arsenal and Liverpool could arguably both benefit from the addition of a new winger in the near future, but they may not have any luck if they’re planning a pursuit of Gittens.
Sources have now told TBR Football that Gittens believes that he should stay in Germany until after the World Cup in 2026, given that is likely to be his best avenue to a place in the England squad.
Arsenal and Liverpool interested in Jamie Gittens but he has other plans
As of the next international window, Thomas Tuchel will be in charge of England, and playing in the Bundesliga will certainly not be seen as a disadvantage.
As a result, Gittens firmly believes that he could be pushing for an England slot in the near future and his progress is likely best served at Dortmund.

On their part, Dortmund love the 20-year-old winger who was born in Reading and has represented England at under-21 level.
The German club would like Gittens to extend his contract in the next 12 months, but Dortmund are also aware that a future move is part of the winger’s plans.
Jamie Gittens has taken advice from Jadon Sancho
TBR can confirm that every major Premier League side have been doing work on Gittens, and that includes Arsenal, Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa, who have all watched him this season.
As explained, Dortmund have no plans to sell, they believe that when it does come to him leaving he will warrant a price tag similar to that of Jadon Sancho.
Sancho cost Man United €85m back in 2021, a player who is now slowly improving during his loan at Chelsea.
It is also understood that Gittens has spoken with Sancho about his experiences since leaving Dortmund.
An interesting situation to follow, and judging by his recent performances, Gittens will be worth pursuing for Europe’s elite, even if it means waiting until 2026.
