The decision to appoint Julen Lopetegui as West Ham United manager was a “disgrace”, according to talkSPORT presenter Rory Jennings.
The Spaniard has endured a rough start to life at the London Stadium, his side sitting 14th in the Premier League with four wins in their opening 13 matches.
The Hammers were thrashed 5-2 at home by London rivals Arsenal on Saturday (30 November) and the pressure on the former Wolves manager has cranked right back up after the Newcastle victory.
And it feels inevitable that this is a partnership that is going to end sooner rather than later in the view of Jennings.
Speaking on talkSPORT [30 November, 20:51pm], he said: “I am afraid that he is making a pig’s ear of this job. I think it is a disgrace that he ever got the job.

“West Ham fans were so obvious and so blatant in what they wanted for their club, certain fan cultures really do matter.
“The West Ham way matters to West Ham fans. It feels to me that he is so out of his depth and it is only a matter of time before the West Ham United board have to pull the trigger.”
West Ham should put Julen Lopetegui out of his misery
The win against Newcastle on 25 November was supposed to turn the momentum around in the Hammers’ favour.
However, after a chastening defeat to the Gunners, it feels like the Irons are back at square one.
Mikel Arteta’s team are contending for the title, so a loss against them is not the end of the world, but the matter of the defeat was a kick in the teeth for the club.

There was a lack of fight, the players looked like they had given up and simply accepted they were going to get beat, notwithstanding a mini-fightback towards the end of the first half in which the Hammers reduced the deficit from four to two.
It was far too easy for Arsenal. Whether the threat was from corners, open-play or the two penalties given away by the Hammers, it felt like the Irons were just waiting for their opposition to score again.
If the Spaniard cannot turn the tide in the next few matches against Leicester, Wolves, Bournemouth, Brighton and Southampton then he may not be in the dugout for the New Year.
In other West Ham news, an “important” player is surely on the verge of leaving East London after a new transfer update emerges.
