Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim has praised Ruud van Nistelrooy for his positive influence on star wing-back Amad. Van Nistelrooy, who briefly returned to Old Trafford as part of Erik ten Hag's coaching staff and took interim charge after the Dutchman's dismissal, is now at the helm at Leicester City.
During his short stint at the helm, the United icon steadied the ship and re-installed some confidence in the club's players, winning three games and drawing another.
And despite his short stint, his impact on Amad, rather than Ten Hag's was significant, according to Amorim.
"He is really big in talent, but small in size," Amorim said about Amad's sensational display in Sunday's 4-0 win against Everton on BBC Match of the Day.
"He did a great job but he is also has to improve. He is a great moment. Ruud van Nistelrooy helped him a lot in his games in charge and now he's helping me."
However, Amorim cautioned against getting too excited about the team's latest result, noting that while a change in management can spark improvement, there's still work to be done.
He added: "Rather than trying to convince the fans about this performance we have a lot to do, it will take time.
"Sometimes we are not playing well but defended everyone together. Our fans just ask for hard work and then in time they will ask for better football.
Rashford, who has scored three goals in two starts under Amorim, was also full of praise for his team-mate Amad - who provided two assists and won the ball back with his relentless counter-pressing for a third - after the match.
"It wasn't as easy as it looked today. Amad did well to counter-press for two of the goals," Rashford explained.
"He's so sharp and he's always got the intent to push the other team back, with and without the ball. It is for the players to understand the strengths of other players so we can feed off each other.
"We worked on it [the first goal] yesterday and it is always nice when something comes off that you worked off. It was a nice goal.
"The all-round team performance and energy and atmosphere is what we want to create because it makes it difficult for teams to beat us.
"He [Ruben Amorim] is definitely demanding but encouragement to bring your strengths into the game. That is when you get a really good team performance.
"Hopefully we can build on this and keep pushing. It's nothing to get overly excited by. We have to keep pushing every day to meet his demands."
