'He's got everything': ESPN pundit admits£32m Chelsea star has made him eat his words after Aston Villa win

There were some good performances in Chelsea’s 3-0 win against Aston Villa on Sunday.

Nicolas Jackson once again managed to get his name on the scoreline, while Enzo Fernandez netted in a second consecutive game.

Cole Palmer also scored one goal and set up another, so Enzo Maresca will be pleased with the team’s performance.

Joe Hart thought Jackson was “really sharp” against Villa, but he is not the only pundit who has been praising the Chelsea striker.

Janusz Michallik thinks Nicolas Jackson has everything

Going into this season, many had doubts about Jackson, including former USA international Janusz Michallik.

However, the 23-year-old has convinced him after putting in another fantastic display against Villa over the weekend.

When asked on ESPN FC if Jackson is starting to make people eat their words, Michallik responded by saying: “Mine to begin with. Not long ago here I was saying, you know, I thought that Christopher Nkunku was maybe a cleaner finisher.”

He later added: “I mean, he’s proven that he’s got everything. I mean, you look at him playing back to goal, the way he drops in the midfield, the way he turns and immediately offers himself to go behind the back four, back three or whatever it may be, good in the air.”

While the Senegal international is having a good season, Enzo Maresca thinks Jackson can still improve.

What has Enzo Maresca said about Nicolas Jackson’s performance against Aston Villa?

Maresca was happy with Jackson following Chelsea’s victory over Villa and not just because of his goal.

The Chelsea manager praised the former Villarreal man for his contribution off the ball after the match.

In his post-match press conference, as shared by football.london, Maresca said: “It’s not easy to find space. They don’t press so you have to be patient. We were very aggressive. Nicolas Jackson scored a goal but what he was doing off the ball is what we need.”

Jackson remains Chelsea’s joint-top scorer in the Premier League alongside Palmer after the duo’s goals at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.

Both men are on eight, which means Jackson is only six away from matching his total tally from last season, which is really impressive.

Player Premier League appearances Goals Assists

Nicolas Jackson 13 8 3

Cole Palmer 13 8 6

He has 25 games to do that, so the forward, who cost Chelsea £32m last summer, really should be getting there.

In fact, Jackson should now be aiming for 20 goals in the Premier League, if he is not already. The Blues play bottom-of-the-table Southampton next, so he has a great chance to move closer to that figure. And with the form that Jackson is in, you would back him to.
