FC Barcelona are going through some kind of a crisis in La Liga, as they have only been able to get a single point from a possible 9 in the last three games. The Catalans have lost two of their last three games in the league, to Real Sociedad and Las Palmas, and also gave away a 2-goal lead to settle for a draw against Celta Vigo in between these two losses.
With these results, the healthy lead that the Blaugranes had accumulated over their main rivals, Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid, has completely eroded, as Real Madrid are only 1 point behind them, while also having a game in hand.
In such circumstances, Barcelona will have to ensure they do not drop any more points in the domestic league. According to SPORT, Hansi Flick has now emerged as the group’s leader, and he is once again utilizing his preferred methods of giving his players confidence with his closeness and dialogue to turn the situation around.
One of the defining characteristics of Flick’s coaching style is his closeness with his players, whether they are starters or substitutes. Thus, as Barcelona do not have any time to make tactical tweaks, the German will once again rely on this closeness and dialogue to get his team to play in a better way.
In addition to these psychological tools, the Blaugrana coach will also have some of his key players back for this upcoming game. Dani Olmo is once again fit to start, as is Lamine Yamal, while Marc Casado has also served his suspension and will be available to play against Mallorca.
The German coach has also diagnosed his team’s defensive problems and believes only a 100% effort, both mentally and physically, from his players can help them avoid these problems.
With these minor tweaks, the Barcelona coach will be looking to get his team back on track in La Liga. But he faces a stern test against Mallorca tomorrow, and it remains to be seen how his team will react to their recent losses.
