Chelsea transfer news: PSG 'plotting a move' for Blues man with France international to be used as a makeweight

Chelsea have reportedly been offered a swap deal for their forward Christopher Nkunku by French champions Paris Saint-Germain.

Nkunku is Chelsea's top scorer in all competitions this season, but only one of 11 strikes have come in the Premier League.

Chelsea's huge squad means that manager Enzo Maresca essentially has two separate XI's for the Premier League and for cup competitions.

The form of Nicolas Jackson means that Nkunku has been restricted to just 163 minutes of league action since being hooked early in the opening day defeat to Manchester City.

Jackson netted again in the 3-0 win over Aston Villa on Sunday, taking his tally to eight in the Premier League, and further solidifying his place in the team.

Nkunku to be offered a way out of Chelsea?

While Nkunku is still being given plenty of game time due to Chelsea's involvement in the Conference League, a lack of playing time in the league could push him towards the exit.

The Sun claim that PSG are one of the clubs who would be willing to offer Nkunku a route out of Stamford Bridge, with a player going in the opposite direction.

Nkunku is a PSG youth graduate, making his breakthrough at the club in the late 2010s, before moving to RB Leipzig.

PSG were one of the clubs who were linked with Nkunku following his excellent scoring seasons at Leipzig, but the player opted to stay, before then moving to English capital in 2023.

Randal Kolo Muani is the man set to move in the opposite direction as part of a swap deal, with his time at PSG looking like it could be coming to an end sooner rather than later, after losing his place in Luis Enrique's side.

While Nkunku cannot get any game time in the Premier League, Kolo Muani is struggling for minutes altogether.

The 25-year-old has not started any of PSG's last nine games, and was once again an unused substitute in the 1-1 draw with Nantes over the weekend.

Even with the injury to Goncalo Ramos, Kolo Muani has not had a look in, with Enrique preferring to use a false nine instead of the France international, who has continued to feature for Les Bleus despite dropping out of the PSG squad.

October 6 was the last time Kolo Muani started for the Parisians, and on that occasion he was replaced at half time in a draw with Nice.

You have to go back even further for his last goal, with that coming on September 1 in a 3-1 success at Lille, but the former Eintracht Frankfurt has scored three times for France since then.

Being out of favour with Enrique seems to suggest the man bought for €80m (£66m) last summer is on his way out of the club, and he will look for pastures new in order to rediscover the form that earned him that big-money move.
