PSG respond to Mohamed Salah transfer links and make feelings clear on move

Mohamed Salah at Liverpool vs Manchester City

Mohamed Salah's longer-term Liverpool future remains up in the air

Paris Saint-Germian have denied making contact with Mohamed Salah over a move to the Parc des Princes, it has been claimed.

Salah is in the final few months of his contract at Anfield, and suggested he's 'more out than in' when it comes to extending his stay. "Honestly, it's in my head," Salah added after Liverpool's latest victory over Manchester City.

"Until now this is the last City game I will play for Liverpool so I was just going to enjoy it. The atmosphere was incredible so I will enjoy every second here. Hopefully we just win the league and will see what will happen."

There has previously been interest from the Saudi Pro League, while PSG have also been linked in some sections of the media. However, the French club believe the Egyptian's camp still have a new Liverpool deal in their sights.

According to L'Equipe, PSG are happy with their new approach of favouring a collective over superstars. This has seen Neymar and Kylian Mbappe leave the Parc des Princes over the last two summer windows, with young and hungry players brought in.

Luis Enrique's side have been quick to distance themselves from a move, despite Salah being able to speak to potential suitors in January. He could yet reach a pre-contract agreement with a new club and move on a free at the end of June.

In November, Salah claimed not to have received an offer to stay at Anfield beyond this season. However, if the latest reports in France are to be believed, Salah's camp are still hoping the public comments may lead to Liverpool giving their top scorer what he wants.

Salah's agent Ramy Abbas Issa has been vocal on the subject of the 32-year-old's future. "You just don’t know," he wrote on social media in January amid reports that Salah favoured a move to Spain.

"FYI – all those ‘journalists’ who imply having ‘inside information’ about Mohamed’s future are just making claims/posts based on absolutely nothing," he added in September as fresh rumours began to circulate. "Just clickw******. 'Sources close to Mohamed' don’t exist. This post is really just to tell you that they don’t know."

Despite the speculation, Salah has continued to deliver on the pitch. His goal from the penalty spot against Manchester City was his 11th of the season in the Premier League, just one behind top scorer Erling Haaland, while his assist for Cody Gakpo was a seventh in 13 league games.

Reds boss Arne Slot has insisted the uncertainty around Salah's contract is far from a distraction, though. "“The only thing I can say is that if I look at my line-ups Mo is more in than out. So that quote I can give you," he said before Wednesday's win over Real Madrid.
