Wolves will find out their opponent for the third round of the FA Cup when the draw is made on Monday night.
Last season was so nearly very special for Gary O’Neil’s side as the Old Gold made it to the quarter-final of the FA Cup.
Wolves were beaten by Coventry City in the quarter-final to deny O’Neil a trip to Wembley Stadium in his first year at Molineux.
Late goals from the Championship outfit arguably contributed to the start of Wolves’ abysmal run of form, with there hope that better luck can be found in the cup this year.

FA Cup third-round draw: Three teams Wolves would favour
The FA Cup draw takes place on Monday night as Wolves wait to find out their opponents in the historic tournament.
64 teams are in the draw for the third round, with the Old Gold allocated ball number 44 – here are three teams O’Neil might want to face.
West Bromwich Albion
Last season’s cup run was memorable for a variety of reasons, none more as significant as Wolves’ derby win over West Brom at the Hawthorns.
The contest was as feisty as matches come, ending with the visitors leaving with a ticket into the next round.
MORE WOLVES STORIES
West Brom were charged for their crowd trouble against Wolves, telling of what was a memorable day for the Old Gold, being something the squad would surely want to experience again.
Everton
Moving on, another team Wolves might fancy is Everton, given how strong O’Neil’s individual record is against the Merseyside giants.
O’Neil has more wins against Everton than any other team in his managerial career, winning four of the five meetings he’s had with the Toffees.
The relegation candidates have had some difficult luck in the FA Cup over the past two seasons, reaching the fourth round last term and the third the campaign prior.
Coventry City
O’Neil saw his players give everything against Coventry in the quarter-final last season however, it wasn’t enough to prevent the Sky Blues from going through.
Wolves were moments away from a trip to Wembley but it wasn’t meant to be, which could inspire the Old Gold to seek some redemption over Frank Lampard’s new side.
Currently 16th in the Championship after a poor start to the campaign, soon appears to be a good time to play Lampard’s adapting squad, the perfect opportunity for payback.
Wolves’ FA Cup record against Arsenal and Leeds United
While there are some teams Wolves will be hoping to be drawn against, there are several that O’Neil would certainly wish to avoid.
The two selected by Molineux Newsare Arsenal and Leeds United, two clubs that the Midlands giants have a poor FA Cup record against.
Games Wins Draws Losses
Arsenal 9 3 0 6
Leeds United 6 1 1 4

While the Gunners are one of the challengers for the Premier League title, Wolves arguably fear Mikel Arteta’s side more in the FA Cup.
Wolves have lost in the FA Cup against Arsenal more than any other club, but they’re not the only side the Old Gold have had issues with.
Leeds United also pose a threat in the cup, with Wolves having recorded three losses from six games played against the Whites in the tournament.
