Liverpool are ready to expand their scouting operation as the revamp behind the scenes continues. The Reds are making a number of new appointments in their recruitment and loan management departments as they look to bolster their ranks with more local, national and international talent.

With Matt Newberry having been promoted to the role of director of global talent, a new head of loan management will be recruited. Newberry was previously also the head of recruitment for the Academy at Kirkby.

There will be a further two new roles as loans pathway lead and loans performance analyst, with Liverpool recognising the importance of temporary moves for their younger players.

First-team squad regulars Conor Bradley, Jarell Quansah and Harvey Elliott all benefited form spells out on loan, while the likes of Ben Doak and Lewis Koumas - at Championship sides Middlesbrough and Stoke City respectively - are among a group of players currently gaining valuable senior experience away from Liverpool.

Liverpool are also strengthening their personnel at the Academy with appointments in the recruitment, analysis and scouting departments.

This season eight Academy graduates - Curtis Jones, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Caoimhin Kelleher, Tyler Morton, Vitezslav Jaros, Trey Nyoni, Bradley and Quansah - have all featured for Arne Slot's senior team.

The departure of Jurgen Klopp and his coaching staff earlier this year prompted a complete overhaul of several key areas of Liverpool's football operation, which is being overseen by Michael Edwards who was brought back into the fold in March as the first chief executive of football for Reds owners Fenway Sports Group.

The club announced in October that director of scouting and recruitment Dave Fallows will leave by the end of the year having helped with the transition to the new regime in which Richard Hughes is the Liverpool sporting director.
