Manchester United must use their long-standing relationship with agent Jorge Mendes to sign Geovany Quenda next year.
The Reds are among a number of top European clubs linked with the 17-year-old winger, who was handed his Sporting debut by the current United boss Ruben Amorim. However, the club's interest in the rising talent pre-dated the head coach's arrival at Old Trafford.
The Manchester Evening News revealed United's interest in the teenage winger last month, with figures at Sporting expecting the Reds to make a move for Quenda next year. Mendes has already met with United regarding the teenage Sporting winger, and his agency, Gestifute, is negotiating a potential transfer for the player next year despite Igor Campedelli being Quenda's agent.
French side Paris Saint German, Liverpool and Chelsea have all been linked with the wide player in recent weeks, with the Portuguese youth international capable of playing as a right-winger and a right wing-back in Amorim's preferred 3-4-2-1 formation. His versatility and awareness of Amorim's system make him an ideal component to add to the United squad.
Mendes is said to own half of the player's image rights, much like the stake he owned in Bebe when United signed him in the summer of 2010. The Reds have had a number of dealings with Mendes over the last two decades or so and it could hand the club a huge boost in the race to sign Quenda.
But which other players have United signed with the help of Mendes? Manchester Evening News has taken a look at ten signings the agent has aided with, including some huge names.
Mendes negotiated the deal that brought Anderson to Old Trafford and reportedly earned around £4million from the move. Carlos Queiroz, another of his clients, was also involved in talks as United's assistant manager at the time.

Di Maria's ill-fated move to United was another made possible by his long-term agent, Mendes. He also transferred the player from Benfica to Real Madrid when they were managed by another of his clients, Jose Mourinho.
