Cole Palmer has revealed what he and Nicolas Jackson do to try and work on their relationship and improve on the pitch.

Chelsea continued their good start to the season as they moved back into the top three thanks to a 3-0 win against Aston Villa.

Jackson scored for the second week running, whilst Palmer was back amongst the goals with a brilliant finish having gone three games without a goal contribution.

The duo are the joint highest scorers for the Blues in the league this season with eight goals each and have struck up a great on pitch chemistry.

Palmer has been central to everything Chelsea have done since he arrived at the club, but Jackson has really come into his own this season and has established himself as one of the most important players in the team.

Enzo Maresca has spoken about how happy he is with Jackson on several occasions this season and the Senegal international keep delivering impressive performances.

Everyone is aware of how good Palmer is with Maresca saying after the Villa game players like him are why fans buy tickets to watch football.

There are a number of good relationships forming on the pitch and Palmer has opened up on his relationship with Jackson.

“Me and Nico work well together,” he told Chelsea’s website.

“We speak to each other everyday and we message each other after games. We’re trying to work on our relationship to help us on the pitch and hopefully that work is showing.”

It certainly appears to be working with the pair assisting each other on a number of occasions this season already and Chelsea fans will be hoping that continues for the duration of the campaign.

Palmer will likely start against Southampton on Wednesday, although with Jackson one yellow card away from missing the Tottenham game on Sunday Christopher Nkunku could be handed a rare start.
