Sean Dyche has been slammed by Ian Croll after Everton conceded immediately after half-time against Manchester United on Sunday.

The Liverpool Echo journalist took to X to question the Englishman as the Toffees ended up losing 4-0 to the Red Devils at Old Trafford on 1 December.

Marcus Rashford and Joshua Zirkzee scored braces, with the England international’s second coming right after the break in the 46th minute.

Croll was baffled as the Blues conceded the third goal of the match, writing: “You really have to question the instructions from the manager at half-time after conceding straight from the kickoff. Dreadful.”

It’s clear at this point that Dyche isn’t the right man to take the Merseyside outfit forward, with the team regressing under him.

The English manager was appointed in January 2023 and was arguably instrumental in helping the Toffees avoid relegation.

After being docked points in the previous campaign, the 53-year-old head coach drew much applause as the Blues were deemed one of the favourites to go down but managed to survive.

The Goodison faithful had high hopes going into the 2024/25 campaign, but fans now see Everton lingering in 15th position in the league table — unacceptable for an outfit the Toffees’ size.

After the loss at Old Trafford, the Blues have now gone five games without a win in the Premier League, with the performances lacking impetus.

While the Merseyside outfit have a decent record since losing their first four fixtures, drab displays like those against West Ham and Brentford don’t fill the Goodison faithful with much confidence.

Dyche has some tough challenges ahead as the Toffees play against Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City in December.

It’s fair to say that the Mersysiders are in a tough spot right now, and there seems to be no way out of it for the time being, with the former Burnley head coach failing with his ideas at Goodison.
