Arsenal midfielder Bless Akolbire has spent time on trial at Leicester City recently.
The 17-year-old is unlikely to be offered a professional contract by Arsenal when his scholarship deal expires at the end of the season.
Akolbire played 74 minutes for Leicester’s U18 side in a 3-1 defeat away to Tottenham Hotspur on November 9th.
The youngster joined Arsenal as a schoolboy from Colchester United’s academy in November 2020.
Akolbire was one of the first players in his age group to be awarded a scholarship contract, which he officially signed in the summer of 2023.
However, he went into that season off the back of an injury-hit campaign and struggled to build up momentum.
Akolbire has made 18 appearances for Arsenal U18s but just three of those have come this season.
Last season he was named on the bench in the UEFA Youth League but it seems likely that Akolbire will leave Arsenal this summer as things stand.
