Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes can potentially miss their Premier League clash against Mikel Arteta's Arsenal due to an ankle injury, as per the GOAL. Ruben Amorim's team will travel to North London later this week to face the Gunners on Wednesday, December 4.
Arsenal are currently second in the Premier League with 25 points in 13 matches, nine points behind Arne Slot's Liverpool, who sit at the top. Next up, the Gunners will face Ruben Amorim's Manchester United, who defeated Everton 4-0 at home in their recent Premier League game. Marcus Rashford (34', 46') and Joshua Zirkzee (41', 64') scored twice each to guide the Red Devils towards a resounding victory over the Toffees.
However, Bruno Fernandes was subbed out in the 65th minute against Sean Dyche's side. Later, the Portuguese midfielder was seen sitting on the bench with an ice pack strapped to his left ankle.
No updates have been provided by United about the severity of Fernandes' ankle issue. However, the Red Devils would want their skipper to play against the Gunners on Wednesday. The Portuguese midfielder has made 20 appearances for Manchester United across all competitions, bagging four goals and nine assists.
Since arriving at Old Trafford from Sporting CP in January 2020, Fernandes has been one of the most consistent players for United. In the last five years, the 30-year-old has missed only one game for the Red Devils due to an injury.
Real Madrid interested in signing 25-year-old Manchester United star: Reports
Real Madrid are interested in signing Diogo Dalot from Manchester United in January transfer window, according to Relevo's Sergio Fernandez. Despite interest in Dalot, Liverpool's Trent Alexander-Arnold will remain Los Blancos' transfer priority. They also aim to pair the Englishman with his compatriot and good friend Jude Bellingham.
However, Los Blancos are also eyeing other options if they fail to secure Alexander-Arnold's deal. The Portuguese defender's transfer value is estimated to be around €50 million. However, United are unlikely to accept any offers less than €50 million for Dalot, especially after Ruben Amorim's arrival.
Diogo Dalot is an academy product of FC Porto and he arrived at Old Trafford in the summer of 2018 for a reported fee of €22 million. For the Red Devils, the 25-year-old has made 178 appearances, bagging six goals and 12 assists across competitions.
