Barcelona and Girona well-represented in La Liga Team of the Month; Real Madrid absent

Spanish football fans have gotten a glimpse of who the top performers in La Liga were over the last month courtesy of WhoScored, who have today unveiled their Team of the Month for November.

Barcelona were represented by the duo of Dani Olmo and Raphinha, while Girona were the most well-represented team in the XI.

Arnau Martinez, Miguel Gutiérrez, Bryan Gil and Bojan Miovski are the quartet of players from Girona as they outnumber their Catalan neighbours on the list.

Interestingly, Real Madrid are absent from the list, with the remaining players being made up of stars from Osasuna, Real Sociedad, Mallorca and Atlético Madrid.

This comes even though Real Madrid’s Vini Jr. was the recipient of the league’s Player of the Month award, albeit as the result of a public vote.

Nonetheless, these stats portray a worrying blip in form for Los Blancos, but many fans will not be concerned given their current placing just one point behind Barcelona following the Catalan side’s home loss against Las Palmas.

The full list is as follows:

GK: Sergio Herrera (Osasuna)

RB: Arnau Martinez (Girona)

CB: Nayef Aguerd (Real Sociedad)

CB: Clément Lenglet (Barcelona)

LB: Miguel Gutiérrez (Girona)

RM: Bryan Gil (Girona)

CM: Samú Costa (Mallorca)

CM: Dani Olmo (Barcelona)

LM: Raphinha (Barcelona)

ST: Bojan Miovski (Girona)

ST: Ante Budimir (Osasuna)
