Liverpool-linked defender Milos Kerkez has sent a message to Reds midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai following their 2-0 win over Manchester City. The Hungary captain has come in for praise for his display, which helped them move nine points clear at the top of the Premier League.

Both Kerkez and Szoboszlai are international teammates for Marco Rossi's side but following his performances for Bournemouth, the full-back has been the subject of speculation regarding a move to Liverpool. In a report from Caught Offside recently, it is claimed the Reds are reportedly stepping up their interest in the 21-year-old.

The defender was brought to the Premier League by Liverpool sporting director Richard Hughes, during his tenure at the Cherries, from AZ Alkmaar in 2023.

The rumours circulate during a period when speculation swirls over the futures of Andy Robertson, 30, who has 18 months remaining on his deal and Kostas Tsimikas - with links away from Anfield in recent transfer windows.

Taking to Instagram following the win, Szoboszlai posted: "Amazing night under the lights! Next up, Wednesday." Kerkez was among the players to comment on the post, he replied: "Big bro [heart and lightning emoji]."

It isn't the first time that the pair have communicated over Instagram. Ahead of their first meeting in August 2023, discussing the prospect of swapping shirts, Szoboszlai teased his international teammate that he can use it to 'wipe dust with'.

Liverpool face an important week ahead as they face two gruelling away fixtures against Newcastle United and Everton. The Reds make the trip to the North East, looking to replicate their heroic win at St James' Park last August, while they will be looking to avenge the bitter defeat at Goodison Park.
