Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne has still not started a game despite having returned to training weeks ago.
De Bruyne picked up an injury earlier in the season against Inter in the Champions League, much to the dismay of supporters.
De Bruyne was initially expected to be out for a short period. But he ended up on the sidelines for weeks.
But De Bruyne has now been back in training since before the October international break. Despite that though, he still hasn’t started a game for City, having come off the bench in five games.
Jamie Carragher thinks ‘something is going on’ with De Bruyne behind the scenes at City, and fans are also now starting to speculate that something is off.
Many supporters were stunned how little game time De Bruyne got against Liverpool when City were crying out for a bit of creativity.
MORE MAN CITY STORIES
After the defeat to the Reds, Gary Neville offered his verdict.

De Bruyne’s lack of minutes recently for City has certainly not gone unnoticed.
He is obviously one of the greatest Premier League players of all-time at this point, so the fact he has been warming the bench for weeks has now made this a story.
Gary Neville, who had commentated on the game for Sky Sports, offered his two cents on the situation after the game.
Speaking on the Gary Neville podcast, he said: “There are a couple of things that are interesting.
“The De Bruyne thing is unusual, bizarre, strange. You know, why is probably the best player that the Premier League has had in the last 10 years, why is he not out there? We know he’s had injuries, but why is he not out there?
“Because he’s a leader, he’s got authority, he’s got confidence, he’s got brilliance. So something’s going on, something’s definitely going on in the dressing room, there’s something happening.”
De Bruyne situation is very strange
Many were hoping that De Bruyne would start against Liverpool.
So to see him come on at 2-0 down with around 15 minutes to go really did irk some City fans.
Because City had struggled for the most part at Anfield, and didn’t create many meaningful chances. £55 million man De Bruyne may have had his injury problems and may no longer be in his prime, but we all know what an incredible creator he is.
Kevin De Bruyne for Man City
Appearances – 339
Goals – 103
Assists – 170
Trophies won – 18
Surely, he needed to be brought on in that game much sooner.
De Bruyne spoke at a press conference last week and cut a very relaxed figure and he didn’t say anything to stir the pot. There were no signs that the player is currently unhappy, so the situation really is a strange one.
