Richard Keys believes Everton are on the verge of a “full-blown crisis” before their Premier League fixture against Wolves on Wednesday.

The Toffees head into the game at Goodison Park on Wednesday 4 December following their disappointing 4-0 defeat to Manchester United, leaving them two points above the relegation zone.

The Sports presenter has also become concerned by the lack of news surrounding the takeover, though it is understood a deal with Farhad Moshiri should be completed by mid-December [Alan Myers].

Writing via his personal blog [2 December], Keys said: “And Everton are poor. It’s a worry. They’ve gone four games without scoring now. They’re a hard watch. There’s no sign of the proposed takeover and I fear a long, hard winter lies ahead at Goodison.

“They’re only two points outside the dropzone again and if Wolves beat them this week there might just be another full-blown crisis at the club. In recent seasons they’ve never been far away from the next one.”

Could Sean Dyche’s time be up if Everton fail to beat Wolves?

Dyche is now without a win in five matches, last beating Ipswich Town in mid-October. The Toffees have lost twice and drawn three since then, scoring one goal and conceding six.

The pressure has been building on the manager for weeks, and rightly so, with the side only two points above 18th-placed Wolves at the moment, a team which could send them into the dropzone.

The sides are set to meet at Goodison Park in two days and history would suggest bad news for Dyche. Wolves have avoided defeat in the last six meetings, winning five of them.

It’s a must-win for the Toffees but considering the two sides’ very different forms, it could be some of the manager’s final actions in charge at Goodison Park.

Both ends of the pitch have been a massive problem for the Blues, given that they have only netted 10 goals so far. Dwight McNeil being the top scorer with three goals says everything.

In other Everton news, one Toffees player, who looked “90 years old” was ripped apart in the Manchester United defeat.
