Saturday 30th December will be a day that lives long in the memory of Nottingham Forest star Jota Silva.
Nuno Espirito Santo handed the Portuguese performer his first start in the Premier League for Forest.
He didn’t disappoint either as he won the penalty kick that Chris Wood stepped up to score and ensure a 1-0 win for Forest.
Ipswich player Cameron Burgess delivered a salty message to Silva after the game but he won’t be bothered one bit.
It’s been a frustrating few months for the versatile attacker but with Anthony Elanga nursing a minor injury, Espirito Santo left him on the bench and went with Silva from the off.
One thing that Forest do have this season is competition for places with genuinely good players now sitting on the bench waiting in the wings.

What Nuno Espirito Santo has said about Ramon Sosa
Silva has now made his first start but for Paraguay international Sosa, it remains to be seen when he will get the nod.
The £9 million summer signing from Talleres in Argentina has had to wait patiently and he did get more minutes from the bench against Ipswich.

Sosa has notched his first goal in English football, scoring in the 2-2 draw against Brighton back in October.
Espirito Santo was quizzed on the talented winger and after discussing Silva, he suggested that Sosa is just a little further behind him in the pecking order.
He told Nottinghamshire Live: “I think he started really well and with energy. He brought us up the pitch and won corners. He won us the penalty. He is another option.
“Ramon Sosa is also – he is taking a little bit more time but he will get there. I always say that players need time to settle down in the Premier League because it is very hard to compete, but he did OK.”
Sosa will get more game time as the season progresses
The 25-year-old will perhaps have welcomed more game time at this stage of the season but clearly there has been a settling-in period.
Sosa can operate on either flank and he does look like an exciting player and has done some good things when he has come onto the pitch.
The Paraguayan player looks to have a lot of trickery and a burst of pace that can take him beyond defenders in a flash.
Right now, other players are ahead of him in the pecking order but given that his transfer fee was very reasonable, Sosa still feels like a risk-free signing.
There are no international breaks until March now and that means that the games will come thick and fast, which should benefit Sosa as he bids for more game time.
