Barcelona manager Hansi Flick says he has no plans to take Inaki Pena out of his starting XI [despite the arrival of Wojciech Szczęsny](https://www.barcablaugranes.com/2024/10/10/24266910/what-a-goalkeeper-wojciech-szczesny-making-good-impression-at-barcelona).
The Poland international is yet to feature since coming out of retirement to sign for Barcelona in the wake of Marc-Andre ter Stegen’s injury.
Flick was asked about the goalkeeping situation on Monday but says Pena remains his number one.
> “He had a very good training session today and I can say that right now I don’t plan to change the goalkeeper,” he told reporters.

> “Iñaki is the starting goalkeeper as I have said before and that is how it is.”
Pena has stepped up his performances since coming into the team but doubts still linger over whether he has what it takes to be Barca’s No. 1.
Szczesny will have been hoping for minutes after deciding to return to football but will have to continue to be patient for now.
