Chelsea look to make it three Premier League wins in a row with a trip to Southampton on Wednesday night.

It was fairly plain sailing for Chelsea against a tricky Aston Villa side at Stamford Bridge on Sunday afternoon as Enzo Maresca saw his men ease to a 3-0 victory.

Those three points took the London club to third in the Premier League, level on points with Arsenal in second place as the former Leicester City manager continues to enjoy a strong star to life in West London.

Next up is the short trip to struggling Southampton on the south coast. Here's your early team news.

Southampton team news

Struggling Southampton host Chelsea on the south coast with a long list of first team stars unavailable due to injury. Paul Onuachu has only played a bit part this term and has a minor injury, which makes him a doubt to face Maresca's side.

It'll be either Alex McCarthy or Joe Lumley between the sticks in midweek with Aaron Ramsdale not expected to return until nearer Christmas with a hand injury and Gavin Bazunu out until February with an ACL problem. Striker Ross Stewart is also sidelined until the New Year having made a few cameos earlier this season.

Taylor Harwood-Bellis played the full 90 minutes against Brighton last time out but picked up a fifth yellow card of the season, which sees him suspended against Chelsea. Jan Bednarek has a knee ligament injury that was picked up on international duty last month when clashing with Cristiano Ronaldo on Poland duty - he could be back against Aston Villa this weekend but Chelsea is expected to come too soon.

There are problems in the centre of the park for Russell Martin too. Flynn Downes and Tyler Dibling are both suspended having picked up a fifth yellow card of the season. Adam Lallana has a hamstring injury and isn't expected back for a couple of weeks while Will Smallbone has a similar problem.

Doubts - Paul Onuachu. Outs - Aaron Ramsdale, Gavin Bazunu, Taylor Harwood-Bellis, Jan Bednarek, Flynn Downes, Tyler Dibling, Adam Lallana, Will Smallbone, Lesley Ugochukwu.

Chelsea team news

It's a much healthier squad at Maresca's disposal for the trip to Southampton on Wednesday night. Wesley Fofana was forced off early against Aston Villa and that is a blow with the centre-back picking up a 'bad' hamstring problem according to the Chelsea boss - he's not expected to return until January.

That's the only fresh blow for the Blues. Reece James remains sidelined with a hamstring injury as he continues to struggle for a run of games and Omari Kellyman is a longer-term lay-off with a hamstring injury.

Outs - Reece James, Omari Kellyman, Wesley Fofana.
