Manchester United arrive at Arsenal on Wednesday night buoyed by a 4-0 win over Everton at the weekend.

It may already be too little too late for Mikel Arteta and his side when it comes to the title race after a poor run of form this autumn. Liverpool are already nine points ahead of Arsenal in first place.

Next up for the Gunners is the visit of Manchester United to the Emirates Stadium in midweek action. Here's your early team news.

Arsenal team news

Arsenal centre-back Gabriel was taken off at half time against West Ham having scored the opener at the London Stadium. The 26-year-old has been nursing a slight injury picked up against Sporting Lisbon at the end of November.

Speaking after the victory over the Hammers, Arteta said: "It was related to the previous injury that he had in Lisbon. Obviously he did great to be part of that but with that result and with the niggle that he’s feeling, we decided to take him off."

That makes Gabriel a doubt for the clash with Manchester United, but the defender took to social media at the weekend and wrote 'see you Wednesday', suggesting any substitution was a precaution.

Midfield duo Thomas Partey and Mikel Merino were both absent from the matchday squad on Saturday evening with Arteta confirmed that both had picked up injuries and not travelled to the London Stadium. The Arsenal manager said: “Unfortunately they both picked up an injury and the game came too early and they couldn’t be part of the squad."

Doubts - Gabriel, Thomas Partey, Mikel Merino. Outs - Ben White, Takehiro Tomiyasu.

Ruben Amorim also has his own injury problems to deal with as he prepares his side for the trip to London, as well as suspensions.

Leny Yoro only arrived in Manchester this summer but is yet to make a competitive appearance for the club after needing foot surgery on a problem picked up during pre-season. The defender is training again and is expected to make his long awaited debut this month.

Victor Lindelof could also miss out with a groin injury picked up on the recent international break and is yet to play under Amorim. Jonny Evans was also not in the squad against Everton and is therefore a doubt.

England international Kobbie Mainoo is suspended for the meeting with Arsenal having accumulated too many yellow cards and defender Lisandro Martinez is in the same situation.

Doubts - Leny Yoro, Victor Lindelof, Jonny Evans. Outs - Kobbie Mainoo, Lisandro Martinez.
