[Real Madrid](https://www.managingmadrid.com) midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni rejoined the group in Monday’s training session having recovered from the sprained ankle he suffered weeks ago. Tchouameni successfully completed the session and should be ready to face Athletic Bilbao at San Mames this Wednesday, assuming everything goes according to plan during Tuesday’s pre-match training session.
If Tchouameni features in the starting XI, it will be interesting to see if Carlo Ancelotti deploys him as a center-back, which would move Asencio to the bench. The canterano has been playing really well and placed himself in the conversation to keep starting alongside Rudiger, but Athletic Bilbao are a very physical team which could require Tchouameni’s presence.
Either way, Real Madrid will be getting some reinforcements over the next few weeks. Bellingham is also ready to face Athletic Bilbao after being forced to leave the match against Getafe at half-time with pain on his neck.
