The draw for the third round of the FA Cup has been made

FA Cup holders Manchester United, now under the leadership of Ruben Amorim, are set to face fellow Premier League side Arsenal in the third round of the competition.

Premier League and Championship teams will make their first appearance in the FA Cup following the conclusion of the second round. United will be aiming to defend their title and secure a domestic cup for the third consecutive season.

Pep Guardiola will be hoping that Manchester City's struggles are behind them by the time the third round takes place in early January. Guardiola was won the competition twice before and his quest for a third victory begins against Salford City, which is majority-owned by Gary Neville.

Liverpool, currently leading the top flight under Arne Slot, will face Accrington Stanley, giving the Dutchman his first taste of the cup competition. Tamworth, one of only two non-league teams still in the FA Cup, will take on Tottenham. Dagenham and Redbridge, the other team representing the National League, will face Millwall, reports the Mirror.

The third-round ties are scheduled for the weekend of January 11 and 12. Fixture dates and TV selections will be confirmed in due course.
