‘It’s surprising’ – La Liga manager heaps praise on Barcelona youngster

Barcelona star Lamine Yamal has on Monday come in for some fresh praise.

This comes by way of the manager who currently finds himself in the midst of preparations to attempt to keep Lamine’s impact in check.

Barcelona’s wing sensation is of course in line to return to starting duties on Tuesday night, when Barcelona make the trip to Son Moix, for a La Liga meeting with RCD Mallorca.

After only being considered well enough for the bench en route to the Blaugrana’s defeat at the hands of Las Palmas over the weekend owing to a recent ankle injury, Lamine is now back fully fit and firing.

Speaking to the media in his pre-match press conference on Monday, the name of the Spanish international was therefore put to Mallorca boss Jagoba Arrasate.

And the tactician could not help but admit his admiration for Lamine’s talents, explaining:

“It’s surprising that a 17-year-old player has such an impact on his team, on the game, on everything he does. With him, they’ve played 11 league games and won all 11. And when he hasn’t been there, they haven’t won. This doesn’t mean that he’s indispensable or that the credit goes to him, but you can understand the impact he has on the game. Surely they attack with more order, they have more offensive solutions, the team is better prepared to attack. It’s not surprising anymore because he’s been like this for a year, but you have to value the fact that a 17-year-old player has such an impact on Barcelona and the national team.”
