Pep Guardiola's Man City are winless in seven matches
Gary Neville's Salford City will face Pep Guardiola's Manchester City in the third round of the FA Cup with the pundit tweeting "he’s getting sacked in the morning" after the draw was made.
The League Two outfit, who are majority owned by Neville, have made it into the third round for the first time and will take on the Premier League giants. Salford saw off Cheltenham to ensure they would be in the draw and will face the current English champions.
City though are not enjoying a good time of it and Guardiola has presided over a seven-match winless run, which includes six defeats. His latest reverse came at Anfield as Liverpool ran out 2-0 winners on Sunday.
The crowd chanted "your getting sacked in the morning" towards the City boss as his side continued to search for answers. Neville's tweet looks to have been similarly inspired as Salford, who are 15th in the fourth tier, hunt a major upset in the FA Cup.

Guardiola has largely avoided giant killings in the cup competitions since he arrived in England eight years ago. A loss to Wigan Athletic, then in League One, in his second season is as bad as it has got for the Manchester outfit, who may need cup competitions if they are to win any silverware this term.
Neville has been scathing in his assessment of City recently and said after they lost to Tottenham : "They look well short. As short as I've seen them since Pep's first season. I've not seen them as bad as this, how they've been in the last few weeks."
He also claimed: "It seems madness, when you think about what they've achieved. They're easy to play against and teams are encouraged when playing them. The vulnerabilities are clear for everyone to see."
Guardiola will hope to have arrested City's slide by the time their clash with Salford comes in the second weekend of January. He'll have to negotiate the hectic festive period and hope his champion outfit can click into gear despite their obvious issues at present.
Nottingham Forest are their next assignment and they'll also face Crystal Palace, Manchester United and Aston Villa in the coming weeks - when they'll hope to close on Liverpool.
Guardiola himself has confessed that his historic success is the only thing stopping him from feeling more heat from those above him. "Maybe I deserve to be sacked, honestly," he said. "Maybe I'm still in the job because we won six Premier Leagues. A lot of titles. Otherwise the hierarchy maybe would be thinking that this does not work."
