West Ham have reportedly been linked to a 24-year-old striker from Ligue 1.
West Ham have recently been linked with Lyon striker Georges Mikautadze, as they look to add more firepower to their attack following an underwhelming start to the season.
He joined Lyon in the summer transfer window from fellow Ligue 1 side Metz for a fee of £15m, but he has been struggling for minutes, meaning he could make a quick transfer in January.
Mikautadze has scored four goals and one assist from 16 matches so far this season. However, he has mainly been making appearances from the bench, and therefore could be sold due to the fact the French club need to source £83m after receivinh a provisional relegation based on whether or not they can pay off their debt.
Italian outlet Totto Juve (via Sport Witness) are reporting that West Ham are keen on the striker and could make a quick move for him in January. Juventus also hold an interest according to the report however, the Hammers have been tipped as the most likely destination for the Georgia international.
The striker had his best spell during his time at Metz, where he scored 38 goals in 64 games across four years with several loan moves included early in his career.
The 24-year-old plays primarily as a striker, but he can also feature on the wing, something that Julen Lopetegui could utilise in West Ham’s under-performing attacking unit.
The Hammers looking for goals
Adding a forward in January could be a quick solution for the Hammers who are in need of a good spell of form if they want to push up into the top half of the Premier League table.
