"Soccer time means I'm locked in" - Leylah Fernandez enjoys off-season with sister Bianca,…

Following a season that saw her encounter ups and downs, tennis star Leylah Fernandez is spending some quality time away from the sport based on photos she posted during the off-season.

The Canadian rose to prominence in the 2021 season, where she went on a brilliant run to reach the US Open final. Although she fell to Great Britain's Emma Raducanu in the final, Fernandez announced her arrival on the WTA tour and has been a threat at every tournament ever since.

Fernandez makes the most of her off-season time

After a grinding 2024 season, the 22-year old took some well deserved time off. Fernandez updated fans on her activities during the off-season, as she posted several photos and videos of herself in her Instagram stories where she was seen enjoying quality time with family members during the break.

In one clip, the former World No.13 attempted the viral stick-falling reaction game, which often tests a person's reflexes and is found at arcade centers. Although the Canadian started out shaky, she was able to catch a few sticks towards the end.

"I have some work to do," she captioned the clip.

In another video, Fernandez, alongside tennis pro sister Bianca, was seen watching the highly-anticipated Premier League match between defending champions Manchester City and league leaders Liverpool.

"Soccer time means I'm locked in," read the caption.
