Hungary's rising star Milos Kerkez, linked with a move to Liverpool, has shown his camaraderie with Reds ace Dominik Szoboszlai after the 2-0 victory over Manchester City.
The win propelled the Reds a significant nine points clear at the top of the Premier League table. Kerkez, meanwhile, has been turning heads with his performances for Bournemouth.
CaughtOffside claims that Liverpool is intensifying its interest in the 21-year-old left-back. Richard Hughes, Liverpool's sporting director, was instrumental in bringing Kerkez to the Premier League from AZ Alkmaar earlier in 2023 during his time with the Cherries.
Amid ongoing speculation about the future of Liverpool's current left-backs, Andy Robertson and Kostas Tsimikas, Kerkez's name is being thrown into the mix as a potential addition to the Anfield ranks. After the match, Szoboszlai took to Instagram to celebrate the result, posting: "Amazing night under the lights! Next up, Wednesday."
Kerkez joined in the celebration, commenting on the post with: "Big bro" - accompanied with heart and lightning emojis.
This interaction isn't the first instance of their friendly banter on social media. Back in August 2023, when discussing shirt swapping, Szoboszlai playfully suggested that Kerkez could use his jersey to "wipe dust with".
Liverpool is bracing itself for a crucial week as it prepares to tackle two tough away games against Newcastle and Everton. The Reds will be hoping to recreate their triumphant victory at St James' Park last August, while also seeking redemption following their disappointing loss at Goodison Park.
Kerkez has featured 41 times in the Premier League since joining Bournemouth. The defender played an important role in helping Bournemouth finish 12th in the table last season, picking up 13 wins to finish a whopping 22 points clear of the relegation zone.
Kerkez scored his first Premier League during Saturday's 4-2 win against Wolves. He's also picked up two league assists this season, both in the 2-1 win against Manchester City last month.
