Manchester City striker Erling Haaland took to Instagram last night to send a message to fans, amid the club’s mini-crisis.
City lost 2-0 to Liverpool in their latest game, extending their winless run to seven matches across all competitions.
Manchester City fans feared the worst heading into the game with Liverpool, who have been brilliant so far in 2024/25. And those fears were realised early on, as Cody Gakpo gave Liverpool the lead after 12 minutes.
City somehow managed to get in at half-time only 1-0 down, but Mo Salah made it 2-0 in the second-half after Stefan Ortega brought down Luis Diaz in the penalty area.
It’s a tough time right now, and Pep Guardiola has several problems to fix.
One such issue is that the attackers aren’t scoring goals – with the exception of Erling Haaland, who took to Instagram last night to send a message to fans.

Yesterday, a few City players decided to take to social media to send messages to supporters.
Captain Kyle Walker sent a lengthy message to City fans, urging them to keep believing in the team and talking up past achievements.
Then, Phil Foden also told City fans that the players would ‘keep fighting’.
And in the evening, Erling Haaland decided to join in.
City’s top scorer took to Instagram to write the 13-word message: “We’ve seen better days before, and we’ll see them again. We keep believing.”
After the game with Liverpool, some spotted Haaland telling Guardiola ‘don’t worry’, as they acknowledged the travelling supporters at Anfield.
Haaland needs help from his teammates
Haaland is one of the few City players this season who can hold his head high.
The team has really struggled as a collective, but he has again pulled his weight by scoring 17 goals in 19 appearances.

Goals – 17
Assists – 0
Sure, he’s missed quite a few chances this season. But the Norwegian superstar is doing all he can right now.
What Guardiola really needs is for his other attacking players – especially Phil Foden, Savinho and Jack Grealish – to start chipping in with some goals in the Premier League.
None of those aforementioned players have opened their account in the league yet, which is highly disappointing, and the overreliance on Haaland is clearly not sustainable.
