Arsenal take on Manchester United in the Premier League.
Ruben Amorim has had a good start to life at Old Trafford. He has won two and drawn one of his first three games, and his latest result – the 4-0 win over Everton – was a really positive one.
Manchester United don’t have a great recent record against Arsenal – they have won just two of their last 11 games against the Gunners.
Amorim would love to change that, and one player could help him get the job done against Mikel Arteta’s side on Wednesday night.
Manchester United’s plan for Mason Mount vs Arsenal
Mason Mount joined Manchester United from Chelsea for an initial £55 million in 2023.
The Englishman was viewed as a great signing by the Red Devils. He was very good for Chelsea during his time there and his quality is unquestionable.
Mount had multiple injury issues in his debut season at Old Trafford. That limited him to just 756 minutes of football all campaign.
The 25-year-old has had his problems this season as well. He has only played 287 minutes in all competitions, but that could change soon.
GiveMeSport reveal that Amorim’s Manchester United are set to hand Mount ‘an extensive game time during the busy festive period coming up.”
It has been claimed that he will be given a chance to ‘work his way into Amorim’s preferred starting line-up’ and is now ‘in line to secure an increased amount of game time’ in United’s next two games, the first of which is against Arsenal on Wednesday night.

Mason Mount’s record against Arsenal
Arsenal have a dominant recent record against Manchester United, and they will go into the game on Wednesday as the favourites.
The Gunners have won three games on the bounce recently, scoring 13 goals and conceding just three. They are in great form and will be difficult to stop, especially at the Emirates.
The report claims that Mount will play a bigger part against Arsenal than he did against Everton – he came on for the final 10 minutes of that game.
Unfortunately for Manchester United fans, the England international’s record against the North London giants is not great at all.
Mount has played eight times against Arsenal and has lost five of those games. He hasn’t scored a goal against the Gunners but does have three assists.
We’re sure the 25-year-old would want to correct that awful record if he gets a chance at the Emirates on Wednesday night.
