Giuntoli Discusses Antonio Silva and Danilo to Napoli

Juventus director Cristiano Giuntoli alluded that Antonio Silva was indeed a January target, adding that they planned to keep ahold of Danilo despite the recent links to Napoli and his reduced role. He spoke to Sky during the Gran Galà del Calcio.

“The Benfica defender is an interesting player, like a few others. Everybody keeps things close to the vest until the end during the winter. We’ll have to be attentive and alert and strike at the right moment.”

“Danilo is our captain, and we’ll hold onto him. We’re still shorthanded in the back. We haven’t talked about anything with him or Napoli. Our goal for the next window is to sign a new player without selling anybody.”

Giuntoli maintained their stance about not necessarily bringing in a new striker in January.

“At this stage, we’re waiting for Arkadiusz Milik. We’re confident he can do really really well. He fits the coach’s scheme. Then, should there be a hiccup, we’ll be ready on the market.”

Giuntoli set the goal for this season.

“It’s a peculiar year for us, and we really have many absences. Our gaffer is doing very well, and we’re fighting to stay in the upper parts of the standings. Our objective is to finish in the top four. We have changed a lot and hired a new manager. We’re happy with how things are going, but the injuries have surely had an impact. Many players who haven’t been able to express their full potential will be able to do so in the second half of the season. We’re playing like a team.”
