Chelseahave been a revelation so far this season. They have done exceptionally well in the Premier League and the UECL. At the same time, they are playing good football and growing well as a team. In recent years, the Blues have been under a lot of criticism. They would lose a lot of games. At the same time, there would be constant managerial changes. Then, to make matter worse, their big-money signings were not working out at all. They would sign young talents. All of them with potential, for sure. But, none with top-level proper experience. So, there was a lot of inconsistency and lack of team chemistry.
The fall of Chelsea
Thomas Tuchel led the Blues to a surprising UCL win in 2021. They were truly exceptional that season. They did a great job in 21/22 Premier League too. The Blues would finish 3rd in the league then. But, things would soon fall apart for the London side. Tuchel would leave following a poor show in results. Things were never really the same since. Chelsea ended up having one of the worst ever seasons by finishing 12th and losing 16 league games in the 22/23 campaign. Fans had to endure really tough times with their team. Big changes had to be made or else the downfall would continue to last.
The turning point…
Mauricio Pochettino took over in the 23/24 season. Although, there was a slow start yet again, things began to pick up as the season went on. The Blues were looking great at the end of the campaign. Even then, the manager and the club chose to part ways mutually. Nonetheless, Chelsea have found their rhythm now. Since Enzo Maresca took over, they are flying high in the Premier League. Fans are also very pleased with the club’s management and scouting to keep track of the upcoming stars and making them a part of the team. As of now, the Blues are levelled on points with rivals Arsenaland sit 3rd in the league table. A place in the top 4 seems within reach so far. They could win the UECL too. It will be interesting to see if the Blues can finally contest for the league title again.
