Alan Shearer reveals who David Moyes was supporting during Manchester United vs Everton

Manchester United vs Everton had a lot of meaning to David Moyes, having managed both clubs.

Everton just didn’t turn up at Old Trafford as Manchester United ran out 4-0 winners.

Sean Dyche should be under even more pressure after arguably one of the worst results of the season to date, but Alan Myers insists that a decision likely won’t be made until the new owners are in charge.

Interestingly, it has been reported that David Moyes is one of the favourites to take the potential vacant Everton manager job.

And he was watching the Manchester United vs Everton game in the Match of the Day study recently, with Alan Shearer sharing who he was cheering on last Sunday.

Alan Shearer reveals whose corner David Moyes was in when Manchester United defeated Everton

David Moyes spent just over nine months at Manchester United, which is nothing compared to the 11 and a half years he was in charge at Goodison Park.

However, managers who remain in the game often refuse to give away their allegiance to certain clubs, and that’s what David Moyes did on Sunday.

When speaking on the Rest is Football podcast, Alan Shearer revealed that Moyes wasn’t cheering anyone on and he remained quite neutral.

“No, he wasn’t cheering anyone on, he was sat waiting to do bits of his analysis. But yeah he’s in good form and he likes both clubs doesn’t he, he’s got a big affection for both clubs.”

David Moyes issues his prediction on whether Everton will get relegated

David Moyes, when speaking on Match of the Day, gave his Everton relegation prediction.

“There is. I think Everton have got enough to stay out of it but they’re going to have to win the games they can.

“Today was always going to be a hard game against Manchester United and Dychey sort of eluded to that.

“But they gave away goals that were really unlike them. They need to be much better defensively, they need to get their set-pieces back working because over the last season or two they have been very good defending and attacking.”

For someone who’s been linked with the potential Everton job, it doesn’t sound like it’s in his plans.
